2022 Highlights!

What a year to shoot weddings! After a crazy couple of years being apart, we had our first year shooting weddings together after Covid. So of course we had to come together to put a little blog out there.

Firstly, we would love to say thank you to all our wonderful couples and their families for choosing us to capture your days. It’s a cliche we know, but you’re honestly making our Lace&Lowe dream a reality. You’ve welcomed us, fed us, laughed with us and made this year a blast. So thank you again!

What this Year Entailed?

What a year for the team, we have shot at some stunning venues including: Bruisyard Hall, Swynford Manor (twice eek), Haughley Park Barn and Quendon Hall to name a few!

We also went back to some of our favourite venues, here’s looking at you All Saints Hotel, The Boathouse and Riverside House Hotel

We got the unbelievable pleasure of shooting not one tipi wedding, but two and they were both BLOODY epic.

There have been so many wonderful weddings and moments this year and we thought that we would name our top 10 wedding moments of 2022 with our favourite photos chucked in too:

  1. Nearly killing Sally on the back of a golf cart during Andy and Jodie’s wedding, I’m sorry but this moment will live forever. I could have cried as not once, but twice I tried to drive off with Sally only partially hanging on to the golf cart with all of her camera equipment! I’m sorry Sally.
  2. Bruisyard Hall! Joe and Kirstie thank you for planning the dream day and bringing our craziness along for the ride with you. This was perfection from the engagement shoot, to the wedding, to actually calling you both bloody wonderful mates. Love you!
  3. Watching one of our besties get married and capturing her day, after what seemed like the most action packed love story going! A week after finding out I was pregnant with our rainbow baby.
  4. Sally got to go on a boat at the beautiful Boathouse in Ormesby. She says she feels guilty as I got left behind with the guests, but we all know she secretly loved it lol.
  5. Seeing a couple of groups of guests at a few weddings and them coming to us for photos and trusting us more every single time we saw them!
  6. Watching Tony’s reaction when Claire called Danny O’Donoghue’s name during their vows! Then also seeing a giant cut out of Danny appear shortly after the first dance, who we later found out had been saved from the hen do and kept in pristine condition so he didn’t miss out at the wedding.
  7. Frank and his military friends dancing at Swynford Manor! They were proper animals and we laughed until it ached.
  8. Taking Liam and Christina out to the woods to capture some super magical shots during their tipi wedding.
  9. Every road trip to and from venues, all the snacks and McDonald’s and misdirections. Late night chats on my drive!
  10. Watching a fair few of our own friends and family tie the knot and being so lucky and honoured to capture their days for them.

I know we said ten, but the bonus one for us was capturing Jess and Aaron’s day at Swynford in October. We were so lucky to have been asked to capture her brother’s wedding a few years ago, it was an honour to come back and see all the family again. After Adam’s loss we know their families were rocked and changed forever, but we felt so proud to watch them tie the knot and see them continue to flourish as a family.

What's Next for Lace&Lowe?

A big question! Next year we’re dedicating more time to providing our couples with the best service, continuing to train on areas we’re both super interested in such as, creative lighting! Improving on our style and really coming into our own as a team.

We’re also looking at adding video to our packages going forward! Which is so exciting. A massive thank you to a few chosen 2023 couples who are going to allow us to test out this new venture on their days. You lot rock!

Any Personal Highlights?

This year has been wonderful but so quick. It feels like it’s come and gone in an instant but we’ve definitely had some brilliant personal highlights.

Sally has added Obi (a super cute and rambunctious spaniel) to the family to keep their already nutty Luna company and he’s made such a positive impact on their lives already. He’s settled into the little brother role VERY well and what a little tinker he is! Luna watch your back pup.

Sally has also been so blown away by away by the amount of clients who have stepped it up during Cake Smash’s! Honestly some of your set ups have been crazy. She’s looking forward to seeing what next year brings and what will be the newest trend in Cake Smash!

For me, I have been so lucky to have done my first empowerment shoot outside at Sea Palling with one of my Boudoir Girls, Laura. She absolutely owned it and has relit that fire in me to keep these shoots going and just to seriously keep plugging away at committing myself to making women feel wonderful.

On a very personal note, a few of you know that last year we suffered our first loss with our first baby and it knocked me off my game for awhile, while I frantically tried to put my life back together. However, this year it gives me the greatest honour of my to announce that our little boy is due at the end of February. I have been incredibly lucky and blessed this year and this little dude is already so loved. I cannot wait to share him with you.

Anything to Share Before you go?

We just want to thank our 2023/2024 couples for being wonderful ALREADY. We genuinely are thankful and grateful that you see our work and vision and have gotten on board! More importantly that you’ve seen our crazy for all it is and still said “yeah those two are alright, come to our wedding.”

Happy Christmas you lovely lot and here’s to a pukka New Year! Have a selfie, because we’re pants at taking our own photos! Don’t worry, New Years Resolution is to change that!

Here's to a bloody fabulous New Year!

All our love,

Sally and Lacey xx
